Speaker Bio

Professor. Yi Cui is the Fortinet Founders Professor, director of the Precourt Institute for Energy, professor of materials science and engineering, and by courtesy, of chemistry and senior fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment. He studies the fundamentals and applications of nanomaterials and develops innovative methods and technologies to address real-world challenges. Professor Cui’s lab pioneers new approaches in energy storage and generation, wearables, batteries and 2D materials. In 2021, he received the Global Energy Prize for new energy applications.
